(CHICAGO) Police in Bridgeview, Illinois arrested an Iowa truck driver after, they say, he drove to their town expecting to meet a 13-year-old girl for a date.
The 46-year-old suspect had allegedly solicited sex through text messages.
The 13-year-old did not meet the suspect on Sunday. Her parents found out what was going on and called police who took 46-year-old Michael Bronkhorst of Cedar Rapids, Iowa into custody near 77th and Harlem Avenue in Bridgeview.
Police say the parents did the right thing by immediately reporting what they found on their daughter’s phone.
Bronkhorst is charged with indecent solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a minor.
