(CHICAGO) The second of two girls shot less than an hour apart last Saturday night has died.
Twelve-year old Kanari Gentry-Bowers died Wednesday. She had been shot around 7:15 p.m. Saturday, while playing at her school playground. Relatives say the bullet struck her in the neck and severed her spinal cord.
Gentry-Bowers’ death came a day after the death of 11-year old Takiya Holmes. Holmes was shot while in a van with relatives near 65th and South King Drive. An arrest HAS been made in that case. Bond has been denied for 19-year old Antwan Jones who is charged with first degree murder.
