(CHICAGO) A man from southwest suburban Sugar Grove faces 18 to 90 years in prison after being convicted of repeatedly sexually assaulting a foster child.
Police say the foster child had been living with Noel Buhay, 49, in his family’s home, in 2004 when the assaults took place.
Prosecutors said between January 2004 and May 2004, Buhay sexually assaulted the foster child several times. The child was under age 12.
A jury found Buhay guilty of three counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child. He had been free on $30,000 bond but when convicted, his bond was revoked and he was taken into custody.
Buhay is due back in court June 2.
