(CHICAGO) A Northwest Indiana woman is charged in connection with the death of an infant she was babysitting.
Last April, police and paramedics were called to a home in the 2200 block of West 41 street in Gary, Indiana to help an 8 month child who was breathing but unresponsive.
Maci Moor was rushed to a hospital in Gary then airlifted to Comer Children’s Hospital in Chicago where she died 4 days later.
Trisha Woodworth, 26, of Gary, was the babysitter. She is now charged with battery and neglect.
Authorities say that the child in Woodworth’s care died of closed head injuries due to child abuse.
