(HOFFMAN ESTATES) The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that the Serta Mattress Company will be closing down it’s Hoffman Estates based offices and moving to a suburb of Atlanta.
The move follows a merger of the former Serta Mattress company with Atlanta based Simmons Mattress company. The combined mattress manufacturer is known as Serta Simmons Bedding.
The paper reports that 120 Hoffman Estates employees are being offered positions at the company’s new location in Doraville on a former General Motors plant.
Serta Simmons Bedding was offered $16.8 million in property tax breaks to consolidate at the Doraville location. The move should be complete by 2019.
