(CHICAGO) President Trump wants to privatize air traffic control and Bill Cameron says Mayor Emanuel who oversees OHare and Midway is guardedly supportive.
When asked how he would feel about flying under ‘Trump Air Traffic Control”, the Mayor sounds like he’s almost ready to get on board.
The mayor says, “I’m supportive of public-private partnership, but not in replacing public with private because that doesn’t work. I’m ok with asking the localities to match up (money), but not in lieu of the private sector replacing the public sector because you’re never going to get there and then it’s truly going to be a bridge to nowhere.”
Emanuel seems to be referring to the recent United fiasco of dragging the doctor down the aisle, which some say boosted trust in the airlines.
