(CHICAGO) Still no state school aid has been approved, but state legislators are doing maneuvers. Democrats are aiming at overriding Governor Bruce Rauner’s partial veto. There’s a House show-hearing this morning and looks like the Senate will be back on Sunday.
Meantime, Governor Rauner is complaining about spin. He says, “There has been a tremndous amount of misinformation about education funding going back for days and weeks. All districts do at least as well. Low income districts do dramatically better. And nobody gets worse.”
It’s almost a certainty that school districts won’t be getting the first installment of their state aid due on Thursday.
