(CHICAGO) Mayor Emanuel is blasting Gov Rauner again as the school funding impasse continues.
The Mayor got a question from the audience at the city’s annual investors conference. He was asked “What do you think of the governor calling Chicago Public Schools mismanaged?” the Mayor responded, “The governor doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”
Emanuel rattled off a long list of student achievements. Then he argued Rauner’s got no room to talk when the deadbeat state of Illinois has $15 billion dollars of unpaid bills, adding “There’s like an undergraduate in any school in our city that I would listen to before I’d listen to somebody who’s got $15 billion wrapped around the state’s future.”
Rauner of course blames the states finances on decades of rule by the Democrats.
