(CHICAGO) President Trump continues to make Chicago a whipping boy for street violence, but Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson has an invitation for Trump to come and see how wrong he is.
At the City Club, Johnson got a question from the audience suggesting he invite Trump to a “night ride-along without the Secret Service” to see the real news and not the fake news about Chicago street violence.
“It’s a false narrative that the entire city is on fire. That’s just not true,” said Johnson, “We have pockets in the city where we have violence challenges. So, I wish people would actually come here to see what we’ve done. We’ve had almost 700 less people shot in the city this year. And that’s huge. I’ll invite anyone who wants to come and see what Chicago is doing and take a look at it,” and that evidently includes the president.
