(SPRINGFIELD, Ill.) — The official beer of the State of Illinois is going to be unveiled Sunday at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.
The beer is brewed by Hand of Fate Brewing in Downstate Petersburg. The brewery won the honor at this year’s state fair. The beer is being described as an Illinois farmhouse ale.
The unveiling comes exactly one year ahead of the state’s 200th anniversary of statehood. The Illinois Territory was admitted to the Union December 3, 1818 as the nation’s 21st state.
