(CHICAGO) In the Springfield sexual harassment scandal, another House Democrat has come out in favor of a truly independent investigation of the problem.
This time it’s liberal Will Guzzardi of Chicago who thinks it’s time to do an investigation that’s on the square.
“The allegations that are continuing to come forward are very disturbing, very troubling,” Guzzardi says, “I think we need an independent investigation to know what happened and when, who knew what and when, who covered what up. I don’t think we’re gonna get to the bottom of it simply thru an internal process. We need an independent light shown on this, outside the familiy if you will.”
However, Guzzardi does not say that it’s time for Mike Madigan to step down as either Speaker or party chairman.
