(CHICAGO) — Two Mundelein High School students have been arrested for allegedly making online threats against the school.
School officials say a student posted a photo of a handgun on Snapchat with the caption, “Mundelein ain’t ready for this.”
Well, that led to the arrest over the weekend of 18-year-old Juan Bello of Mundelein, and another juvenile student. Mundelein police said that both offenders said they never intended to harm anyone. Bello was charged with a class 4 felony and given a $5,000 bond. He’ll return to court on March 8.
Police say the handgun pictured on Snapchat was later found to be fake.
Classes were held as usual today at Mundelein High School, but police officers were on hand in the parking lots.
