(SPRINGFIELD, IL) Governor Bruce Rauner has announced a new game plan to attack the Legionaries issues at Quincy Veterans Home.
Short term, Rauner wants to buy the vacant nursing home down the street that closed in the state budget impasse. Long term, he wants to build a new state-of-art facilty on the Quincy campus.
His political enemies say he’s moving too slowly, but he say, “I think it’s not appropriate to play political football with this important issue of veterans health. There’s this false narrative I think for political purposes that somehow it’s too slow or took too long. Nothing has taken long! We’ve implemented immediately, immediately everything that’s been recommended!”
No one’s saying what the new game plan would cost because there’s “no reliable number.”
