(CHICAGO) Former Chicago Public Schools CEO Paul Vallas is getting page one news for saying he’s in it to win it.
This is the second time Paul Vallas has all-but-officially announced for mayor. Since the first time, his son died, creating some doubt about whether Vallas would actually run.
But, he’s apparently decided to keep running.
He plans to attack Mayor Emanuel’s handing of city finances and tax increases. As he said in January “I think the financial crisis in the city is having an impact on our ability to provide adequate public safety, on the quality of our schools, our economic climate. I mean at the end of the day working families are just getting killed financially!”
Rahm’s camp is happy to debate city finances. The mayor argues Vallas left “fiscal ticking time bombs” most every where he has been in charge in the past.
