Three convenience store clerks in Chicago are under arrest for selling synthetic marijuana laced with rat poison.
The trio were charged on Monday after undercover federal agents bought between 50 and 60 packets of the synthetic drug K2 from their store.
ABC News reports that Illinois is currently battling a K2 epidemic, which has killed two and sickened nearly 60 others as of Monday.
The drug can “cause users to bleed uncontrollably from their eyes, nose and gums.”
When the agents tested the drugs, they found brodifacoum, a toxic substance frequently used in rat poison.
