In the campaign for mayor, challenger Troy LaRaviere is crying foul about special education information at the Chicago Public Schools.
CPS has underfunded special ed for a long time. Challenger LaRaviere – who also leads the Chicago Principals and Administers Association – filed Freedom of Information requests to learn mor, but he says Mayor Emanuel’s CPS team dragged their feet and censored documents.
“We can’t let this go! The Freedom of Information Act is one of the bedrocks we have against corrupt government. It says to you, be careful because the citizens have a right to know what you’re saying.”
He says Rahm can’t be trusted and so CPS needs a state monitor, plus an IG and two AGs need to investigate.
