As you work on your monthly budget, be prepared for a spike in your electric bill.
Crain’s reports that Commonwealth Edison customers will see an increase in their bills starting this summer. The increase will be modest this summer, but significantly more so by the time you’re lighting the holiday tree.
ComEd rates will go up more than 10 percent starting in October. And where does the extra money go? Crain’s says it’s to ensure that ComEd plants are “available during the highest-demand days of the year.”
