New stats from the Labor Department today show that fewer Americans are filing unemployment claims.
Just 222,000 workers filed first-time claims for jobless benefits last week, down a thousand from the week before.
The biggest increases in claims were in New York, Missouri, Michigan, Illinois, and Tennessee while the biggest declines were in California, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Alabama.
