(CHICAGO) At City Hall, Mayor Emanuel is wise-cracking about his challenger Willie Wilson handing out cash at church last Sunday.
Willie Wilson has been handing out cash for years, but this time he was caught on camera and Rahm’s joking about it.
“Yeah, Amy said why you don’t do that at home here?,” said the Mayor, “No, that’s a joke! Lemme say this. You don’t need me to comment on something because a picture’s worth a thousand words. It speaks for itself.”
The mayor was also wise-cracking when asked what’s the difference between Father Phleger’s recent anti-violence march on the Dan Ryan and another preachers march on Lake Shore Dr planned for next week calling on Rahm and Police Supt Johnson to resign, noting “Well, that’s kinda different! (laughs) That states the obvious! You’re ability to state the obvious!”
In any case, he says public safety will be the priortiy for next week’s march.
