(CHICAGO) In the race for mayor of Chicago, Cook County Board President and party chair Toni Preckwinkle won’t take reporters questions until tomorrow afternoon after Wednesday’s board meeting.
Preckwinkle continues to play it coy about whether she’ll run, but nominating petitions are out.
She was keeping her political rhetoric sharp as the county board paid tribute to the late Ed Sadlowski the steelworkers union leader, “I think it’s important to remember at this moment in time when both our governor and the president of the United States feel free to attack labor unions and organized labor that the organized labor movement in this country has been a gift to all of us whether we’re members of unions or not.”
Even Sadlowski’s daughter, Ald. Susan Sadlowski-Garza, seemed to be sending a message, “So, as my dad would say, don’t mourn, organize.”
