It was announced this week that Amazon would be increasing wages for workers. The new minimum wage for the company will be $15. But some workers are now reading the fine print.
In order to pay for its new wage floor, the online giant is getting rid of what’s known as the “variable compensation program.” That program rewards high attendance and a facility’s production level.
The company is also eliminating a stock allotment program for certain employees. During a Q&A that followed a presentation on the wage increase, employees made their displeasure known.
