In an unprecedented move, Supreme Court Nominee Brett Kavanaugh wrote an opinion piece that appeared this morning in the Wall Street Journal .
The embattled judge will have his nomination voted on today and then again this weekend in the United States Senate.
In his op-ed for the Wall Street Journal, Kavanaugh defended his fiery statement and approach in his final appearance in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee last week.
Kavanaugh wrote: “I was very emotional last Thursday, more so than I have ever been. I might have been too emotional at times. I know that my tone was sharp, and I said a few things I should not have said. I hope everyone can understand that I was there as a son, husband and dad.”
Kavanaugh went on to promise readers that he would be an even-keeled, open-minded and independent judge if his nomination is given the Senate’s stamp of approval.
