
While the push to legalize marijuana in the United States continues, one potential downside of that legalization is being seen by transportation officials.
A pair of new studies is revealing that auto accidents are on the rise when it comes to those using recreational marijuana.
Highway crashes in four of the states (where recreational marijuana use has been legalized) have gone up by 6 percent.
David Harkey is the president of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s Highway Loss Data Institute. He says that while it’s “early in the game,” the institute is seeing a trend “in the wrong direction.”
