(CHICAGO) In the race for mayor, powerful Chicago Alderman Ed Burke prefers Gery Chico.
Chico used to work for Burke and so Burke is talking up Chico, saying “There’s probably no one more qualified than he is.”
Burke is going to get a serious Latino challenge for re-election.
Here’s how he likes his chances: “I’m doin’ the best I can and it’s up to the good voters of the 14th ward.”
Burke spoke in his City Hall office as he was also proposing another one of his ripped from the headlines proposals. This time he wants to declare banks and companies ineligible to do business with the city if they do business with Saudia Arabia.
