(CHICAGO) From City Hall, some news you can use, City Clerk Anna Valencia is proposing a four-month city vehicle sticker option.
Not everybody can afford to pay for an annual city sticker – the basic one is about $88 – so Valencia is proposing what amounts to an easy payment plan of about 29 bucks every four months.
“If you think about it,” says Valencia, “a lot of people live paycheck to paycheck like my dad. The guy had a lot of pride. He was what they call the working poor. He would want to buy what he needed, but may not at a price point he could get in to.”
She says she also wants to roll out a one-month forgiveness period so people can avoid the $200 fine for not having a vehicle sticker.
