Sen. Chuck Grassley, who oversaw the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, wants the Justice Department to investigate attorney Michael Avenatti and one of Kavanaugh’s accusers.
Julie Swetnick, a client of Avenatti’s, accused Kavanaugh of attending college parties where women were sexually assaulted. Grassley says Swetnick made ‘false claims’ that ‘hindered’ the confirmation process.
Avenatti, who also represents Stormy Daniels, says he welcomes the investigation and tweeted ‘now we can finally get to the bottom of Judge Kavanaugh’s lies and conduct”.
