For the first time in five years, a death row inmate is scheduled to be put to death with the electric chair.
Edmund Zagorski of Tennessee, who was sentenced to death in 1984 for killing two men during a drug deal, requested the chair specifically because he considered a lethal injection death to be “unspeakable”.
Zagorksi also reportedly chose pickled pig knuckles and pig tails as his last meal.
The last time a U.S. inmate was executed with the chair was 2013 in Virgina. Tennessee has used the chair only once in the last 58 years.
