(CHICAGO) In the race for mayor, a leaked video to the Tribune, NBC5 and WBEZ is an embarrassing moment for a state candidate in Tuesday’s election.
The worst kept secret in Chicago politics is that State Comptroller Susanna Mendoza will quickly announce for mayor if she wins re-election on Tuesday.
The leaked video is an ad of her actually announcing for mayor.
“I’m Susana Mendoza and I’m running for mayor of Chicago. I ask you to join me on this journey together.”
The Mendoza campaign says this is only preparation for a possible run for mayor, but she’s currently keeping her options open.
A plausible explanation, but still a bit embarrassing.
