The Golden State is ready for Election Day – a record number of Californians have registered to vote ahead of next week’s midterms.
A total of 19.7 million residents are registered, about 78% of the state’s eligible voters and nearly two million more than in 2014.
CA Secretary of State Alex Padilla said it was “almost unprecedented” to break a record like this for a midterm election.
Across the country, early voting turnout has been higher than average in as many as 27 states.
