
The most recent person executed in Tennessee was put to death using the electric chair. Now, current death row inmates are seeking a change.
Lawyers representing four death row inmates are asking for another option in addition to the electric chair. They are hoping that a firing squad will be offered as an alternative to the chair.
David Earl Miller is the next man that will be put to death in Tennessee. He is scheduled to be executed on December 6th. But with his case yet to be heard, he is trying to delay his execution until the courts rule on a possible alternative to the electric chair.
Problems with lethal injections have been a part of the problem in Tennessee. On August 9th, it took at least 20 minutes for the lethal injection execution of Billy Ray Irick.
