Nearly 150 years after she founded the National Woman Sufferage Association, Susan B. Anthony’s presence is still being felt on election day in the U.S.
In what appears to have become an election day tradition, dozens of women traveled from their local polling places to Anthony’s grave in Rochester, New York to place their “I Voted” stickers on her gravestone.
Tributes to the champion of the 19th Amendment also appeared on Twitter, with one woman posting, “Thank you, Susan B. Anthony. I cannot even imagine a world in which I would not have the right to vote. Your legacy: women voting, running for office and more!”
