Sen. Chuck Grassley believes that a bill that would protect the Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation should be voted on by the Senate.
This is in opposition to Sen. Mitch McConnell who does not want a vote on the bill by a full Senate.
The bill would protect Mueller from being fired unless there is good cause present.
“It’s legitimate that the bill be brought up,” said Grassley. “It would satisfy me if it became law because I voted for it.”
Senators Jeff Flake and Christopher Coons requested that the bill be voted on by the Senate, but McConnell blocked it.
“Sen. Coons and I are prepared to make it again and again until there is a vote on this vital, bipartisan legislation on the Senate floor,” said Flake.
