(CHICAGO) President Trump told reporters this morning that he will nominating former Attorney General Bill Barr to take the job again and Bill Cameron has Sen Durbin’s reaction.
Trump says he’s hoping for a quick confirmation, but Durbin is arguing not to fast.
“Barr has served as Attorney General before, but he is also a man who has published a lot of controversial articles saying the president can ignore Congress, can even ignore congressional appropriations.”
Durbin is reacting to Trump’s pick of Heather Nauert for U.N. Ambassador.
“I don’t know her but my understanding is she’s from Rockford and she went on Fox and Friends, the president’s favorite program next to Hannity. That must qualify her, or something.
Cameron: Well, you can’t vote against somebody from Rockford.
Durbin: It’s gonna be hard to vote against her.”
Indeed, both nominees are expected to get senate confirmation.
