(CHICAGO) Sunday afternoon, a campaign worker for 15th Ward challenger Joseph Williams – Maxwell Little – was shot and wounded on FaceBook Live in West Englewood.
Ray Lopez, the man who is currently 15th Ward alderman, denies he had anything to do with this brazen shooting. He calls it senseless gun violence by gangbangers.
“I have no doubt that this has nothing to do with politics. More than likely it’s about a group of people not from the neighborhood congregating in an area where nobody knows them and gang members or someone doing what they do unfortunately.
Cameron: Do you know of any gang that supports any candidate in your race?
Lopez: No comment.
Cameron: Why don’t you want to comment on that?
Lopez: No comment.
Ald Lopez says he just “won’t dignify gang members participating in this electoral process.”
