(WHEATON, Ill.) — A former Downers Grove banker was sentenced Monday to four years in prison for stealing from elderly customers.
The judge handed down the minimum sentence to 48-year-old Christine Lang of Summit after she plead guilty to charges that she stole $328,000 from three elderly customers, all in their 90’s.
Prosecutors earlier dismissed charges of financial exploitation of the elderly.
Officials say Lange was employed at Trust Company of Illinois in Downers Grove and between September 2012 and June 2016 transferred money from the three accounts to her own personal account. In all, officials say Lange made at least 84 transfers.
Her scheme was discovered in the spring of 2017 as part of an internal audit.
Lang had faced up to 15 years in prison.
