Just when you thought the TSA couldn’t seize more guns at airports… they have. Screeners have found more guns this year than last year’s record numbers.
In 2018, screeners have found more than 4,000 firearms in carry-on baggage at America’s airports. Line that up with last year’s numbers and the alarming fact that 8 out of every 10 guns found in 2017 were loaded.
The problem seems to be largely centralized. In 2017, 10 airports accounted for nearly a third of all incidents. A CBS News investigation found that the majority of incidents of guns in carry-on baggage involved white men.
