
Cursive handwriting might be going out of style – but not in Ohio. The state is bringing it back, passing a law this week that requires all students to learn cursive by the fifth grade.
Many states have ditched cursive requirements for typing classes in recent years, but it’s actually making a comeback – New York, Alabama, and Louisiana have all added cursive to the curriculum in the last two years.
Experts say learning cursive can help students understand words better, and can still be useful for reading historical documents.
