An airline equipment failure Saturday injured six people — none of whom had even boarded a plane.
The incident occurred at Baltimore-Washington International Airport during the pre-boarding of Southwest flight 822. Four medics and two airline employees were escorting a sick passenger onto the plane at 8 p.m. when the jetway — the tunnel that connects the airport to the plane — suddenly collapsed.
Six of the people were rushed to the hospital and are expected to survive. It’s unclear which member of the group escaped without injuries.
