Military officials say a U.S. airstrike in Yemen killed an Al Qaeda member involved in the 2000 bombing
The military is still assessing the results of the New Year’s Day airstrike, but say Jamal al-Badawi was among those killed.
The January 2000 attack on the USS Cole killed 17 sailers and predates the 9/11 attacks.
