(FLOSSMOOR )In 1975, the village of Flossmoor banned pickup truck parking in driveways. In 1989, it allowed the trucks if they were parked in garages.
Now, the Flossmoor Board of Trustees has voted 6-0 in favor of amending an ordinance that prohibited pickup trucks from being parked in residential driveways. It comes just months after roughly 62% of voters favored doing away with the restrictions.
Under the new ordinance, pickups parked on driveways in south suburban Flossmoor must be for personal, noncommercial use and the truck bed must be empty or covered by a fitted factory or after-market installed cover.
