(CHICAGO) — Cook County Clerk Dorothy Brown Tuesday was been removed from the ballot for mayor of Chicago by the Chicago Board of Elections.
The removal comes after a hearing officer last week said Brown didn’t have enough signatures on her nominating petitions. Candidates Toni Preckwinkle and Willie Wilson had filed the challenge against Brown, with Wilson later withdrawing his challenge.
Brown says she will not appeal the decision and says she will endorse another candidate in the near future.
There are now 14 candidates vying to be mayor. The election is February 26 with the potential for a runoff April 2.
