(CHICAGO) The near west side warehouse that was converted into a studio rented by singer R. Kelly can only be used between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and only as a recording studio. Also, the second floor can no longer be used because inspectors found faulty stairs.
The restrictions come in a ruling by a Cook County judge after inspectors went into the building following a tip that the structure, which is zoned for commercial use, was being used as a residence.
Several building code violations were found during the inspection last week.
