Workers dismantling shelving at a closed-down Iowa grocery store on Thursday found something far worse than any rotting food that might have been left behind: a dead body.
The gruesome discovery was made at a Council Bluffs No Frills Supermarket, which shut down in 2016. Police say the body appears to have been in the vacant store for quite some time.
Police have not yet identified the body. An autopsy is scheduled to help investigators determine the cause of death.
