Electronic cigarettes, or ‘E-cigs’, are generally thought of as a healthier alternative to smoking. But a new study links vaping to a higher risk of heart attack or stroke.
The study says non-smokers who regularly use e-cigs have a 29 percent higher risk of stroke and 25 percent higher risk of heart attack.
For those who smoke regular cigarettes AND use e-cigs, the risk jumps up to 60-70 percent.
Recently, the CDC began to crack down on the use of e-cigs by young people, with reports that up to 11 percent of high school students have used a vape in the last month.
