(CHICAGO) In disgraced Ald. Ed Burke’s campaign for re-election, Bill Cameron says Congressman Chuy Garcia today screened a video of Burke supposedly electioneering in a polling place during last November’s election.
The video purports to show Burke handing out tote bags bearing his name to people in a polling place.
Congressman Garcia is calling on election authorities to closely monitor the 14th ward polling places in the city elections.
“Obviously, the 14th ward has been a bastion of old practices and questionable practices for a long time. The things that we’re concerned about are voter intimidation of people going to vote. People think they’re being watched.”
Burke’s name was not on the November ballot, but it is on the current 14th ward aldermanic ballots.
