(CHICAGO) At City Hall, today’s dedication of the city’s new Fleet & Facilities Management headquarters in Englewood is the result of some very smart financing.
2FM as they call it used to be on the river on the north side. Rahm sold that valuable site to Sterling Bay developers for $110 million which is paying for more than just a new 2FM.
“That became all the money to take all the jobs and a spanking new 21st century facility right here. Then we took the other resources left over and we’re gonna build a new academy for our police to get world-class training. And then we took the other money left over and modernize 3-1-1 to make it a mobile system rather than a land-line system.”
Lots has gone wrong with city finances, but this one isn’t one of them.
