In what sounds like the plot of a “Twilight Zone” episode, a South Carolina man returned home from work last week to find a woman and her children living in his home.
Kent Foster says when arrived at his home in Union, a woman came to the door and asked, “Can I help you?”
“My mouth drops,” Foster says. “She has all of my wife’s clothes [on] — bedroom shoes, shirt.” Plus, Foster’s furniture had been rearranged, his food had been eaten and his bathtub had been used. One of the woman’s two children was running around the house with no pants on.
When police arrived, the woman — 25-year-old Savannah Rhinehart — insisted she lived in the house. She was charged with child neglect, burglary and petty larceny before being taken to a hospital for a mental evaluation. Her children were placed in protective custody.
