* More than $3M was spent to build them and now they’re being torn down. Crews are scheduled to begin tearing down US-Mexico border wall prototypes today.
* “At this point, we have learned a lot from them, but we don’t necessarily have a purpose or use for them anymore, and we will be bringing them down,” a Customs and Border Protection official told CNN.
* According to CNN, some reports suggest that the San Diego area prototypes did not do well in breaching tests. However, results haven’t been made public.
* Recycled material from the prototypes will be used in actual border construction. However, none of the companies contracted to build the prototypes are performing any of that work.
