A federal sex trafficking trial is underway for an Ohio pastor accused of grooming a 14-year-old girl for sex.
According to prosecutors, Anthony Haynes began having sex with the teen on a daily basis after promising her mother that he’d take care of her. Text messages allegedly show him encouraging two other Toledo-area pastors to have sex with the teen as well. Haynes’ attorneys say there’s no evidence of trafficking.
Hayne’s wife and stepdaughter are also charged with assaulting and abducting the girl at gunpoint to keep her from testifying in the trial.
