A South Carolina teen has been arrested for shooting a man in a dispute over a movie theater seat.
Indian Land resident Bryant Eaves Jr., 18, was taken into custody Monday night in connection with the shooting, which occurred Saturday at an AMC Theater in Concord, North Carolina, police say. He waived extradition Tuesday morning and is being transported back to North Carolina to face charges.
The victim, William Weldon, says the shooting occurred during a showing of “Us.” He says after he entered the theater with his mother, he found Eaves sitting in his assigned seat and “politely” asked him to move. “I seen him with his back turned reach inside his pants,” Weldon says. “He reached down, aimed the gun down, shot me in the leg, then took off running.”
Weldon was treated at a nearby hospital and released. Eaves is facing a charge of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill.
